Returns/Refunds/Exchanges

Returns will be accepted within 30 days of the original purchase date. You will receive a full refund of the cost of the original item, or, you may request an exchange for an item of equal value.

We accept returns of items in their original, unused condition within 30 days of their purchase. (If you notice your item is defective after using, please let us know of the problem and we will gladly issue you a refund or replacement, regardless of the condition of your item!)

How do I return an item for a refund by mail?

The cost of the original item will be refunded to your credit card. We will pay the cost of any shipping on replacement of defective items.

  1. First, email ncsbookstore@cathedral.org or call 202.537.6309 to request a return authorization code, and please let us know the reason for your return.
  2. Mail your return to “NCS BOOKSTORE”, and please include your return authorization code on the label. Our address is 3612 Woodley Rd. NW, Washington DC, 20016.
  3. Please include a signed copy of your initial email to us requesting a return along with your original receipt.
  4. When we receive your return, we will apply a full refund of the cost of the original item(s) to the credit card that you used at the time of your order.

How do I exchange an item by mail?

We will gladly exchange clothing for a different size or color within 30 days of your original purchase. You may also exchange the item for another item of equal value.
  1. First, please email us at ncsbookstore@cathedral.org to request an exchange authorization code, and please let us know the alternate item, size, or color you would like for your exchange.
  2. Mail your exchange to “NCS BOOKSTORE”, and please include your exchange authorization code on the label. Our address is 3612 Woodley Road NW, Washington DC, 20016. Please include a signed copy of your initial email to us requesting the exchange.
  3. Once we receive your item, we will ship the exchanged item to you at no additional cost. Please allow for 5 business days for us to ship out your new item.

Can I return or exchange items in-store?

Yes! Please feel free to visit us on the lower level of Hearst Hall, at 3612 Woodley Rd NW, Washington DC, 20016 during our normal business hours. We are open when school is in session: on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 am—4:00 pm; Wednesday, noon—4:00 pm; and Friday 8:00 am—noon.

Can my refund be applied to my student’s school account or for in-store credit?

No, we will only apply refunds to the original credit card used to purchase an item. We do not offer in-store credit.

What are your return/exchange exceptions?

We are sorry, but we cannot accept the following items for a refund or exchange: music CDs that have been opened, and merchandise that has been worn, used, or altered.

Payment Policy

We will accept payment by credit card only (Visa and MasterCard). Your credit card will be charged when you place an order. If we are not able to fulfill your order for any reason, you will receive a full refund to your credit card.

Online Bookstore – Hours of Operation

The NCS Online Bookstore will open two weeks before the school year begins in August, and remain open until the Friday before graduation in June. We will be open over holidays and Winter and Spring Breaks, although please note that it may take a few additional days to fulfill your order during these times. You may place an order online at any time of the day or night, through the date of graduation each year (June 12 in 2011), before the bookstore goes on summer hiatus.

Order Fulfillment and Shipping Policy

We ship via UPS to any address within the continental United States. For international orders, or orders to AK and HI, please contact us at ncsbookstore@cathedral.org for special shipping arrangements.

When can I expect to receive my order?

All orders will be fulfilled within five business days, and shipped via UPS Ground. We will send you an email when your package ships, and will provide a UPS tracking number. (UPS Ground arrives within 5-7 business days.) If you would like to request rush shipping, please contact us at ncsbookstore@cathedral.org or call 202-537-6309 to make arrangements for faster shipping.

We do not charge shipping on orders of $75 or above. Exceptions may be made for oversized items such as chairs, which will be noted in each individual item’s description.

If you require international or other special shipping, other rates may apply.

What if my item is backordered?

We will ship every part of your order that is in stock, and then send the backordered item to you as it becomes available. You will not be charged shipping on this second shipment.

Privacy Policy

Email Addresses

In order to fulfill your order and send shipping notices, a valid email address is required at checkout. We may store your email address for NCS Bookstore use only, and will not sell, rent, or lease your email address to third parties.
